Countdown to virtual graduation

While we won’t be able to gather for an in-person senior week this month, we are holding a series of events and activities just before the online ceremony. This is not a replacement for the in-person events we hope to have later, but rather a way to come together and generate excitement before we receive our degrees.

MONDAY, MAY 25

Zoom Workout 
2:00-3:00 PM EDT
This workout, hosted by Eric, Kyle, and Maureen, will give seniors the opportunity to start their week off right. This will be a one hour full-body workout hosted through Zoom, featuring a playlist with top songs from our college years (think “Closer” by the Chainsmokers and “Body” by Loud Luxury)

Virtual Talent Show
8:30-9:30 PM EDT
The traditional senior talent show that happens during senior week will be replaced by submissions accepted in the forms of video, writing, or whatever medium “auditionees” choose! We may also have a live section of it for those who want to perform live. Submissions will open on May 15th and will close on May 22nd so that there is enough time to edit.

TUESDAY, MAY 26

Be-My-Quarantine

Feeling lonely and want to make new friends? Wish you had more time to ~connect~ with your Match20? Sign up solo or with a partner to be hand-matched with some wonderful (possible) strangers in this speed-Zooming event! Come meet them via breakout rooms in three 12-minute rounds: an individual match, a group-of-4 match and a random match. Also, if you want to see *someone in particular* during this time, submit their name and they will be ANONYMOUSLY invited to sign up. Shoot your shot! Sign up link to be released.

Field Day Trivia
9:00-10:00 PM EDT
Class trivia, games, spelling bee, charades. Several games will be happening at once or in an order depending on how many people join the meeting.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 27

Senior Letterwinners’ Dinner
8:00-9:00 PM EDT
All members of the Harvard community are encouraged to tune-in to SLD2020.com to watch the Senior Letterwinners’ Dinner.  The Senior Letterwinners’ Dinner is a celebration of the student-athletes in the Class of 2020 put on by the Harvard Varsity Club. This is our chance to say thank you for everything they have contributed to the Harvard community, and for upholding the ideals of Harvard Athletics: principled leadership, academic integration and competitive excellence. 

Senior Superlatives (Awards Night)
9:15-10:00 PM EDT
The Dundees, but for the Class of 2020! We intend on sending out a Google Form the week before and asking people to “nominate” their classmates for fun awards like class clown, nicest person, most likely to cure coronavirus, etc. The class committee will determine the “nominees” of each and the winners in a fun, live event.

Netflix Gathering/Party
10:00-12:00 AM EDT
The afterparty! We will have a Netflix party/movie night where we can all screen a movie at the same time and be “together” with wine and snacks.
