The Harvard University Event

On Thursday, May 28, we will gather to celebrate Harvard's 369th Commencement and to confer degrees upon the class of 2020 across the University. This will be a University-wide, live stream event, immediately followed by a College ceremony. In the future, this conferral will be supplemented with an in-person celebration. The Harvard College Event

Immediately following the University event, the Harvard Class of 2020 will assemble for its own ceremony from 12:30 - 1:15 p.m. EDT. A link to that live stream will be made available on the Commencement website.

The program will include:

  • Class video made by members of the Harvard College Class of 2020

  • Remarks from Danoff Dean of Harvard College Rakesh Khurana

  • 2020 Class Marshal appearances

  • Outstanding musical performances

  • A greeting from Faculty Deans that you might never have imagined

  • Presentation of seniors who are being honored for their extraordinary work in service of the College and community at the onset of the COVID-19 crisis

  • Comedian, television host, writer, producer, and Harvard alum Conan O'Brien '85, who wanted to speak directly to Harvard College’s Class of 2020

  • A few happy tears, a bit of pomp and circumstance, and a lot of sentimental moments
